Adrian was born in Pittsburg, California, to Benny and Julia Lopez on February 14, 1948, and passed away on June 2, 2024, after a long and hard-fought battle with Parkinson's Disease.

After graduating from Pacifica High School, Adrian was drafted and served in the US Army Armored Division. He was a proud veteran serving his country in Vietnam. His bravery was recognized with multiple awards including: the National Defense Service Medal; the Vietnam Medal with one Bronze Service Star; the Army Commendation Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; the Purple Heart; and the Bronze Star Medal for heroism.

Returning to civilian life, he pursued employment in law enforcement and became a Deputy Sheriff of Contra Costa County.  Following his time with the Sheriff's Department, he went into the Financial Services Industry.

Adrian embraced life and had many loves including: dancing, music, art, gardening, martial arts, and exploring the world and all it had to offer.

Whenever there was music, you would find him dancing with his wife. It could be in the middle of a restaurant, at family parties, or at home in their living room.

Adrian loved to garden and create spaces of tranquility that were enjoyed by many over the years.  He often loved to surprise his wife with beautiful orchids and plants.

Finding his Band of Brothers at the Concord Vet Center, Adrian was able to share experiences and understand the personal and physical struggles that remained from the battles they fought.  The war in Vietnam was over, but the fight never ended as they continued their own battles at home.

Adrian will be missed by a large loving family. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hairsine; daughter Rosalie Henderson (Frans Van Carpels); son Adrian C. Lopez; stepdaughters Andrea Bradley (Devin Bradley) and Krysta Patterson (Wade Rodrigues); brother Martin Lopez, sisters Irene Lines (Nicholas Lines), Evelyn Warren, Rosalie DeLuna (Miquel DeLuna) and Mary Blow (Larry Blow). He was blessed with seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents.

Memorial Services will be held at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel on Monday, June 17, 2024, with visitation at 1:00p.m. and a memorial service to follow at 2:00p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made payable to the Concord Vet Center.
