Alan David Ferris, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on May 15, 2025. He was born June 3, 1940 to Donald and Ruth Ferris in Minneapolis, Minnesota (the 2nd of 4 boys). In 1958 Alan graduated from Hopkins High In Hopkins, Minn. and enlisted in the army and was stationed in Berlin, Germany in the Armored Tank Division. In 1967 Alan married Nancy Groetsch and 2 years later they moved to California where h e worked for Safeway Supermarket as a retail clerk for 29 years. Alan enjoyed playing golf and watching the Warriors and Giants games. He loved having fun times with his kids like camping, going to the snow, and providing summer fun for them and their friends by setting up and maintaining doughboy pool in the backyard. And when the grandkids came he loved to watch them play sports and provided them with the same summer fun.

Alan is survived by his wife Nancy, son David (spouse Maggie), daughter Katherine (spouse David) and grandchildren David Jr., Brianna, Nicholas, Reilly, Dominic and Kayla. Alan you are loved and missed by all of us.

Memorial Mass will be held on June 25, 2025 at 10:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Military burial will follow at the National Cemetery in Dixon at 2:30pm.
