It is with extreme sadness that I write this about our father, Alan J Scoggins Sr. In the early morning of January 19th, Alan passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home.

He was born August 18th, 1954 in Santa Paula California. He grew up between Los Angeles, California and Mountain Valley, Arkansas. Raised his family in Martinez, California and retired from his career of Executive Chef from Contra Costa Regional Medical Center. Finally settling down in Pittsburg, California.

He survived by his wife of 42 years, Pat, his two sons, Adam and Jesse, his two soon to be daughter in laws, Caitlin and Shonda, and his beloved fur grand babies, Bruce, Oswald, and Gordon.

Alan was such a tremendous husband, father, father in law, brother, uncle, nephew, god father, friend, fisher, cook, baker, story teller, sports fan, and animal lover. He had a magnificent sense of humor that will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He enjoyed spending his time traveling the country via Route 66, feeding and watching the birds and squirrels in the backyard, and watching his favorite sports teams. We are terribly heart broken by this sudden loss and tremendously difficult situation. But we are at peace knowing he is not in any pain and did not suffer.  We will forever miss him.
