Alberto (Albert) Capas, Age 71, of Pittsburg, CA passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 28 ^th , 2023. After a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

Albert was born on March 12 ^th , 1951 to Esperanza and Norberto Capas in Fairfield, CA. After graduating high school in 1969, he served in the U.S Army and eventually started a career in the railroad industry working with Southern Pacific Railroad for 25 years and retiring from BART in 2019 after 24 years of service.

He was a faithful San Francisco 49ers fan and a faithful San Francisco Giants fan; he attended many games. He enjoyed many things like working in his yard, gardening and working around his home. He always kept his vehicles and his home spotless; a very neat, tidy man.  For fun, he enjoyed going on long trips such as cruises to Mexico and Puerto Rico, he enjoyed going to music festivals, listening to salsa music, eating good food, and more than anything spending time with his family; hanging out with his three brothers was like watching the four amigos. He was a devoted father, brother, and son who loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Esperanza and Norberto Capas, he is survived by his girlfriend Erma Barajas, his 3 children Nicolette Arambula (Manuel), Melissa Abraham (Alvin), Michael Capas (Melynn), his three brothers Henry Capas, Israel Capas, Benjamin Capas Sr. (Irma), his 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 11am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will follow at 1pm at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Concord, CA. Reception and celebration of life will be held at the Marina Event Center starting at 2:30pm.
