Obituary

Over 101 years ago, Alvina was born in Pittsburg, CA to Rose and Salvatore Lucido. One of five sisters, she lived her entire life in Pittsburg graduating from Pittsburg High School in1939. She began a long working career with the City of Pittsburg and the Pittsburg Police Department. Hired in 1944, she was the secretary to two police chiefs and has the distinction of being the first female employee of the department. After retirement in 1973, she went to work for Pittsburg Unified School District. She was an active person involved in many activities at Good Shepherd Church and volunteered at the Antioch Senior Center. She enjoyed playing bingo with her many friends and spending time taking care of her yard. She is predeceased by her husband, Wesley, and survived by two daughters, Marguerite Brisbin (John) and Sandra Spowhn (Mike), four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, sister Faith Victoria Garcia, and many nieces and nephews. On behalf of the family, we would like to extend a special thanks and unending gratitude to Alvina's caregivers who provided loving care and compassion over the last nine years until the very moment of her passing.

A graveside celebration of life will be held on Tuesday June 7, 2022, at 11:00am at Oak View Memorial Cemetery in Antioch, CA.
