Angel peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at John Muir Medical Center, Concord at the age of 93. Angel was born in Huntington Beach, Ca and resided in the Pittsburg/Antioch area for 85 years. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran and was employed 37 years at U.S. Steel as an Heavy Equipment Operator; retiring in 1986. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local #1440. Angel enjoyed his family, gardening, shopping and working on projects.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Teresa "Lupe" Narez, daughter Sylvia Russo, sons David (Diane), Rick and Anthony (Heather) Narez, sister Aurora Gonzales, 9 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 3:00pm with a vigil at 4:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Monday, December 22, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Ignatius of Antioch. Committal services following at the San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery in Stockton. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the American Heart Association or Karl Ross Post No. 16 Inc., The American Legion 2020 Plymouth Rd., Stockton, Ca 95240.
