Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Angelina Sorci passed away of natural causes surrounded by family on Friday, September 2, 2022, at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek. She was 92.
Angie was born to parents Olga and Orazio Aiello on July 4, 1930, in Pittsburg. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1948. Later that year she married John Sorci at St. Peter Martyr Church. Both were active in church activities. She was a longtime member of the Young Ladies Institute, a Catholic women's organization. Angie and John raised four children in Pittsburg. She loved cooking, attending family gatherings and sports, especially her beloved San Francisco Giants, 49ers and Golden State Warriors. She was a homemaker and, in later years, devoted caregiver for her mother and husband.
Angie is survived by her children John Jr. (Mary Ann), Randy (Anna), Anthony (Ana), Rose, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and siblings Neno, Erasmo (Ratzi), Jack and Vince.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022, at 9:00am with a rosary at 10:30am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy following at Church of the Good Shepherd at 12:00pm. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch.
