Anna Mary Pratt passed away peacefully at age 91, Thursday, May 21, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones. She was a lifetime resident of Pittsburg, and born in 1923 to Vincent and Frances Costanza. She had one brother, Horace Costanza of Antioch, and one sister Providence (Prudy) Lujan also of Pittsburg. Upon graduation from Pittsburg High School, she was employed as a Telephone Operator for the Pacific Telephone Company retiring after 33 years.
Anna met her beloved husband Walter Pratt while he was in the Navy stationed at Port Chicago, Concord. They were married 54 years until his passing in 1999. She was a member of St. Peter Martyr Church in Pittsburg, and belonged to the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine as a teacher's aide. Also a member of The Good Shepherd Church in Pittsburg, she volunteered cooking in the church kitchen preparing noon meals for the homeless and also volunteered at the church Bingo. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of the America.
She enjoyed traveling with her family, hunting and fishing throughout the Western US. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking for large gatherings with her family.
Anna is survived by her son Walter V. Pratt and wife Joan Pratt of Brentwood, son David M. Pratt and wife Sue Pratt, Bakersfield, granddaughter Erika Pratt, Pittsburg, granddaughter Cassandra Pratt, Brentwood, sister Providence (Prudy) Lujan, Pittsburg, and many family members to numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Pratt, grandson Joseph Anthony Pratt of Oakley, and brother Horace Costanza of Antioch. She will be sadly missed by all.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 4pm with a vigil at 7pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 10am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
