Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our mother, Annette.  Born at home, she was the fourth child of Joe and Susie Sangimino.  She attended school in Pittsburg and graduated in 1953.  She was employed by Los Medanos College for twenty years and extended her education simply by working there.

Soon after graduating from high school, mom met, married (Jan. 22, 1956), and began a loving and lifelong union with Don Landrum (dec. Jan. 9, 2003).  In the nearly five decades together, they took many trips together, ranging from cruises to Hawaii, Jamaica, and the Bahamas.  Also, many family vacations to Disneyland and Disney World, but her favorite place was Lake Tahoe.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Salvatore (Shirley), brother-in-law Ed Pollard, sister Beatrice Riley (Charles), nephews Joseph Pollard, William Bristol and her loyal dog Sweetpea. Mom is survived by her loving sister, Mamie Pollard, sister-in-law Donna Ewart, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Also left to mourn her passing are her three wonderful children: Susan Winkelbauer (Jerry), Donna Allen (Carl), Robert Landrum (Glenda) and her loving grandchildren, Ashley Ewart (Jacob), Jonathan Allen (Kylie), Amanda, and Matthew Landrum.  And last but not least, the apple of her eye, her great-grandson Jackson.  Another great-grandchild (Kinsley Allen) will arrive in June.

Mom was a woman of strong Catholic faith and prayed daily, especially the Our Father and Hail Mary.  She had a special devotion to our Blessed Mother.  Mom loved playing Bingo and poker with her friends, but her passion was going to the casinos in Lake Tahoe.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Amanda for lovingly helping and caring for her nana in her later years.  Mom will surely be missed, but we knew when the Lord called her, she was ready.
