Anthony Vincent Di Maggio was born in Pittsburg, California on December 7th, 1945, to Bessie and Neno "Shannon" Di Maggio. As a Pearl Harbor baby, no one forgot his birthday. A devoted father and survived by his son Brian Di Maggio and daughter Laurie Di Maggio. He is also survived by his loving sister Roselyn (Anthony) Davi, niece Laurene (Rob) Drewry, and great nieces Ashlyn and Mikayla, great-nephew Michael (Sandra) Davi, and great-great nieces Amber and Remi. He also leaves behind his Uncle Joseph Troia, many relatives, godchildren, and friends. He was a family man, and always present at every family gathering. He was preceded in death by his honorable parents, devoted wife Laura Lee Di Maggio, and his dear nephews Michael and Stephen Davi.
Anthony was a school teacher and taught throughout a few different districts from Pittsburg, the continuation high school Del Valle in Livermore, and finally retiring in 2010 from Deer Valley High School in Antioch, CA. It was at Del Valle where he and his colleagues helped the youth finish their education. He would tell his students, and carried this quote to all his schools, "Education is your only salvation." He was a lifelong learner. A former student created a scholarship in his name, and he would go to the graduations every year to hand it out.
As a traditional family man, he only wanted the best for his family and friends. He would be there for you no matter what. He cared about everyone, and kept deep connections with people, and set up a safe place for his family and friends to come. Anthony lived his life the way he wanted and to the fullest, he would always say, "there are no tomorrows." He let nothing stop him.
Anthony's love for the national parks were in his heart to his last days. He loved being outdoors and he knew Yosemite National Park like the back of his hand. He was always planning a trip, and being a teacher he was able to take his family on wonderful adventures. Now he begins a new journey, and he will be dearly missed and forever loved.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy following at Church of the Good Shepherd at 11:30am. Committal services at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch.
