Obituary

Tony was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1929, to Marie and Benedetto Giambalvo. He joined the Military at the age of 18, proudly serving 22 years with the U.S. Air Force. He met his wife, Gloria, at Camp Stoneman and married in 1955. Upon retirement, they settled down with their four children in Antioch. Tony continued working for the Postal Service for 5 years and retired again in 1975.
Tony's greatest joy was spending time with his grown children, 9 grand children and 1 great grandson. Our family gatherings were filled with laughter as he always had a funny story to share. Tony was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He was very proud that he knew a joke for every subject! He was also very lucky and enjoyed many wins at Bingo and his trips to Lake Tahoe.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Gloria; devoted children, Annette Tesler (Tom), Trinnie Clay (Butch), Connie Short (Chris), George Giambalvo (Janice), and Grandchildren, Erik Giambalvo, Brett and Brandon Clay, Thomas, Anthony, and Gianna Tesler, Christopher and Cameron Short, and Christina Titus, and one great grandson, Jackson Clay. He is also survived by his two sisters, Annette Ferro (Henry) and Yvonne Pantina (Pete). His generous, loving spirit will be missed by all that knew him!!!
A private family burial will be held on Dec. 20, 2014 at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
