Obituary

Barbara Lynn Felix, a wonderful woman of God and family, went to her heavenly home on August 6, 2022, at the age of 74 with her husband and family by her side.

Barbara was born on April 16, 1948, in Pittsburg, California.  She was the 6 th of 10 children born to James and Ruby Clark. After the family moved from Oklahoma, she became the first of the Clark kids to be born in California.  The family moved from Pittsburg to Concord, where she attended Clayton Valley High School.  As a teen she loved her family, music, dancing and the outdoors.

Soon after high school, she met her sweetheart Melvin "Butch" Felix at a Navy dance at the Concord Naval Weapons Station. They married on February 24, 1968, in Concord, California, and remained happily married for 54 years. They settled in Antioch, California, and had three children: Dennis, Daniel and Rochelle. As the years passed, they helped raise, as their own, three more children:  Darrell O'Neil, Raul Pinero, and Jackie Clark.

In Antioch, Barbara was very involved in the community, in her church and with her family. Over the years she worked for The Glass Container Company in Antioch, various car dealerships handling title and transfer registrations to then becoming a homemaker for the family's kids and her grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church which became St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Antioch. She also served on the Women's Auxiliary Board with Antioch Little League for many years.

Barbara was a kind and giving woman who loved her family more than anything else. In true Clark family fashion, she always thought of others before herself. If someone was in need, she was there for them. On any given day you could find her tending to her plants, sitting in the stands watching her kids/grandchildren at a sporting event or attending a family function. She was affectionately known as Gramma Barbara to the many kids in town who she helped in the classroom, who were swimming in her backyard pool or who were on the sports teams with her grandchildren.

Barbara died peacefully in Antioch, California, due to complications from Long COVID, pneumonia and lung disease. Barbara is survived by her husband Butch; sons Dennis (his wife, Jennifer) and Daniel, daughter Rochelle (her husband, Brad), and numerous grandchildren, brother Michael Clark, sisters Sharon Wiseman and Brenda Choate and an abundance of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Barbara was beloved by all who knew her.  Her positive outlook on life will be missed. If you knew Barbara and would like to pay your respects, a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 11:00am at the Cornerstone Christian Center, 1745 E 18th St, Antioch, California. A reception will follow in Oakley at Dennis and Jennifer's house.
