Barbara "Bobi" Kinney was born on February 27, 1943 in Totowa Boro, New Jersey. She departed her earthly life, August 5, 2015 in Concord, Ca. At age 19, she married Pete Kinney and at age 20 gave birth to her first daughter Barbara in 1963. In 1969, a second daughter, Tracey was born. A perfectly healthy child, Tracey was stricken with a rare illness at 19 months and lived comatose until her death in 2011.
Bobi worked as a bartender, which she took much pride in, from the 1990's into the 2000's, working for Silver Knight Lounge and the Pittsburg Yacht Club. She was a devoted parishioner at Church of the Good Shepherd in Pittsburg as was an avid Oakland Raider's fan.
Bobi is survived by her daughter Barbara Suki Abono, son-in-law Frank Abono, grandsons: Alex and Dante Abono. Her former husband Pete Kinney. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Helen Pillar and daughter Tracey Kinney.
Bobi never turned her back on life, even when it seemed life had turned its back on her. She will be greatly missed.
A vigil will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 7:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 10:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette.
