Obituary

There is never enough time spent with those you treasure the most. It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of Bensie Quesada, who passed away on April 25, 2024. Bensie passed away peacefully at home after a prolonged battle with Parkinson's. All those that loved him will miss him more than words can express, and we are all grateful for the wonderful years we've had with him.

Bensie, a proud longtime resident of Pittsburg, California was born September 28th in Jerome, Arizona. Once members of the Quesada family decided to relocate to Pittsburg, he was here to stay and met the love of his life, and is survived by his wife Amelia (Gonzalez) of 70+ years. Together they had two beautiful children, Patricia and Jess Quesada (Nancy, whom he adored). A total of six grandchildren; Greg Quesada (Maria), Carrie Schwitters (Neil), Eric Quesada, Tabrina Acuavera (Michael), Laura Santolaya (Ramon), Marci Enea (Buzzy), and fifteen great grandchildren.

While raising and providing for his family, Bensie had a successful career with Monsanto Chemical Plant for more than thirty years. Retiring early at fifty five, he found a passion with woodworking. Building furniture, frames, accessories. If something was broken, he could fix it. Plumbing, electrical, cars, truly a man of all trades. When you needed help with anything, he was there.

Bensie was preceded in death by his parents Margarito and Refugio Quesada, daughter Patricia, brothers Jesus Quezada, Richard Quesada, and sisters Julia Frias, Consuelo (Connie) Becerra, and Aurelia Valdez. Surviving are his sister Margaret Aragon, brother Manuel Quesada (Lois), many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Remembrance will be held Wednesday, May 15th at the Pittsburg Funeral Home from 3pm - 5pm. Please join the family as Bensie is remembered by many. Bensie will be placed to rest with his daughter Patricia at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date attended by immediate family.
