Obituary

Brian Angelo Johnson, 27, of Pittsburg CA, passed away unexpectedly on July 23rd, 2022. The family is deeply saddened by his sudden death. Brian was born on August 31st, 1994, and had lived in Pittsburg for most of his life. Brian excelled as a member of the Umoja Scholars Program at Los Medanos College where he earned an AA in Liberal Arts. He then attended San Jose State University and made positive impacts as the president of Zeta Chi Epsilon fraternity. Brian served as a Specialist (SPC) in the 1488th Medical Detachment under the 352nd Field Hospital of the United States Army Reserves. SPC Johnson was the first Soldier to compete and win the title, "Soldier of the Quarter" for the 1488th. SPC Johnson also served as the ICW ANCOIC and was the unit Guidon. Brian's promising career as a Project Engineer at McMillan Electric was distinguished for his rare-to-find work ethic and ability to excel in any project he was a part of.

Brian was loved by everyone and lit up any room he walked into. He was charismatic, funny, selfless, and always made sure to bring joy into the lives of those he met. On any given day you could find him in his iconic cowboy boots breaking it down on the dance floor, "microphone" in hand belting out a full concert. He loved being outdoors, especially on the range, golfing and laughing with his friends or by the water, fishing and casually swimming across the entire lake.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Tommie Johnson Jr. He is survived by his mother, Mercedes Panugaling Johnson; his brother, Anthony Johnson; and an abundance of loving family and friends. We will miss him more than words can express.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, 3:00pm to 6:00pm with a rosary at 4:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel 2295 Railroad Ave., Pittsburg, CA 94565.
