Brigida V.
Dimalanta
Feb 1, 1927 — Apr 9, 2014
Brigida Ventura Dimalanta passed away on Wednesday after a valiant struggle against congestive heart failure. She was known to most as Nanay. As she begins her journey in Heaven, her nurturing spirit will continue to grace the memories of the many souls she touched on Earth.
Brigida was born in Calasiao, Pangasinan, PI. She was a self-taught seamstress, cook, housewife, & a professional mother. She lived in PI for 50 years before she immigrated with her family to America in 1977. Here in the US, she continued to raise the children of her children, & the children of those children. She believed in the importance of family, & as she passes on to a better place, her family will be one of the greatest legacies she leaves behind.
Brigida is survived by her loving husband, Felipe Dimalanta; eight strong daughters, Rose (Paul), Teresita (Rod), Ada (Hermie), Mila (Jose), Severina (Mario), Yoly (Sonny), and Belen (Alex); two devoted sons, Rudy (Camila) and Bill (Nellie); twenty-seven amazing grandchildren, & thirteen beautiful great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three loving brothers, Alejandro, Genaro, & Melanio Ventura and one graceful sister, Virginia Miranda. Brigida's vibrant spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
