With profound sadness we announce the passing of Carlos, our caring father and loyal friend to all whose lives he touched on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

Carlos Salazar Ricafrente was on born February 10, 1938 in Cavite, Philippines and preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Fe Basilio Dizon.  He attended Mapua Institute of Technology and Feati Institute of Technology.  He had college degrees in Business, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

In May 1988, Carlos and his family migrated to Pittsburg, California.  He worked as a Project Engineer Consultant for Brown and Caldwell.

Carlos loved and treasured his family.  Cooking for his family and friends was his passion.  He truly enjoyed his road trips to Southern California while singing his oldies songs.  He will be fondly remembered for his lotto playing, his sense of humor, his infectious smile and his crooner voice.

Carlito was predeceased by his parents Primitivo and Petra and his siblings Adelina, Primitivo, Jr and Angelina.  He is survived by his older sister, Beatriz Francisco.  Pops was proud of his devoted children:  Neil (Cielo), Erwin (Jeanette), Daisy (Marcos) McManus, Arsenio (Aimee) and Gerjoriz (Joselyn).  His beloved grandchildren, Jacob, Samantha, Mikkel, Amalie, Diego, Raphael and Donovan are his legacy.  He also leaves many other family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10:0am with a rosary beginning at 10:30am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy will follow at Church of the Good Shepherd at 1:00pm.
