Richard Sanchez, of Pittsburg passed away on March 31, 2013 at the age of 86.
Richard was born in Los Angeles to Modesto & Ramona Sanchez on December 23, 1926. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and served on the USS Saratoga. Richard worked as a steelworker for USS-POSCO for 43 years. He was well-known for his sense of humor, love of music and dancing with his wife of 61 years. He was also a member of the "Compadre Club" for over 40 years.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, brothers - John, Art, sisters - Librada, Grace, and Mary.
He is survived by his loving wife Caroline, daughters Delia & Debbie (Ramiro), grandchildren Annette, Paul and Ashley. Brothers – Modesto, Alfredo. Sisters - Alice, Carmen, Nellie and Isabel and many nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10 from 4 pm with rosary at 7 pm at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Mass will be held Thursday, April 11 at Good Shepherd Church at 10 am. Private Burial.
