Carmen M. Lafrades passed away on February 17, 2018, surrounded by the family peacefully at Kaiser Hospital in Antioch, California. She was born in Bagabag, Nueva Viscaya, Philippines on February 16, 1930. She graduated College at the University of the East, Philippines with a Commerce degree. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1962. Her first job she worked as a stenographer for an Insurance firm in San Francisco. She then changed her job as a secretary for the State of California until she retired. Her hobbies included traveling and writing. Carmen is a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd in Pittsburg.
Carmen is survived by her siblings: Feliciana Mina, Frances Masinas, Francisco Lafrades and Aurelia Medina as well as many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a vigil at 6:30pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 9:30am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch.
