On Wednesday, January 28, 2015, Carmen Katherine Vetrano passed away surrounded by her family. She was born in Antioch, CA on May 27, 1927 to Joseph and Mary Reis.
Soon after graduating from Antioch High School, at the age of 18 Carmen Reis walked…yes walked to The Holy Rosary Church to marry the love of her life and Big Band dancing partner, Frank Anthony Vetrano. Together they created a life full of faith, love, laughter and family which gave us lasting memories and values to live by. Her beautiful fortitude and strength, knowing wisdom, counsel and unwavering devotion to her faith made up her spirit that will live on in her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carmen K. Vetrano is predeceased by her husband, Frank A. Vetrano, an infant son, two sisters, Marcie Reis Bruno and Libby Reis Manion, and her granddaughter, Katherine Johnelle DiMercurio.
She is survived by her three devoted daughters, Leticia Vetrano Galli, Mary Jo Vetrano DiMercurio, and Carla Vetrano DiMaggio, as well as her sisters Josephine Reis Billeci, Mary Reis Speed and brother Joseph Reis. Carmen is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her generous heart and warm embrace will be missed by all who knew her.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 5-7pm followed by a rosary at 7pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. On Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 10am a mass will be concelebrated by Fr. Francisco Vicente at Holy Rosary Church in Antioch and by Fr. Isidoro Vicente in Texas. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery.
