Obituary

Celestina (Tina) Ramirez passed away on May 10, 2024, at her residence in Pittsburg with her family by her side. She was blessed with 99 years and had a family that loved her dearly. Tina was born on December 28, 1924, in a small town east of El Paso, Texas named Tornillo. Before moving to California, she spent a year living in Oregon before settling down in Pittsburg, CA. Tina was a prominent member of the community. While growing up in her teenage years, Tina worked as a housekeeper and also in the restaurant business where she discovered many of her God given talents. She used these talents to not only serve her community but her family as well. She served at St. Peter Martyr Church in the praying ministry, singing in the choir and in the upkeep of the church building. Tina was also an excellent cook and prepared many delicious meals for the Loaves and Fishes ministry.


Tina enjoyed, and was excellent at, sewing, crocheting and knitting. Upon request she made uniforms for some of the cheerleaders of the JFL Rams in 1977 and also for the Pittsburg High basketball cheerleading team in 1979. She also used her talent to customize clothes for people in the community.
Tina is survived by her children: Rodrigo Perez (Rosalie); daughter in law, Linda Perez; Salvador Ramirez (Kim); Daniel Ramirez (Lisa) and Elsa Ramirez.
Six grandchildren: Tana Kitamura (Derek); Leah Perez; Rosine Stallings (Ron); Rodrigo A Perez (Theresa); Evaristo Perez (Marly); Gabriel Walker.
16 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Brother: Hilario Villescas (Lalo). Tina is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Trinidad (Trini) Ramirez, her son Arturo (Tudy) Perez, her parents Antonio Ramirez Sotera Villescas, and her brothers Jose Che Ramirez; Manuel Mel Villescas.

Visitation will be held on May 22, 2024, at 11:00am at the at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel with a funeral service at 11:30 am. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch, CA.
