Clarence C. Massey passed away on January 24, 2018 with his family by his side. He touched many lives with his caring heart and outgoing personality.
Clarence was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma and moved to California when he was five years old. He graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in 1956. In his younger years, Clarence and his father operated Massey's Gulf Service Station. He later owned and operated Pittsburg Dairy Drive-In where he made some lifelong friends. Clarence was also a member of the Army National Guard. Clarence enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his favorite western movies, listening to country music, and going on long walks with his little dog Andy.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years Madelyn Massey; daughters Denise Bloom (Darryl), Cheryl Newton (Ramon), and Deanna Machado (Lawrence); grandchildren Dustin and Katarina Bloom, Landon, Austin, and Caylin Newton, and Mackenzie, Dante, and Giana Machado and his little dog Andy. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Nita Massey and his siblings Wanda Hammond, Dean Parrish and Joe Massey.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel, 2295 Railroad Avenue, Pittsburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Clarence's name to St. Jude or Kaiser Hospice of Martinez.
