Obituary

Dan Belter was born to Albin and Mariann on July 30, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan. Dan tragically passed away in an accident while working on his house on September 4, 2015 in Antioch, Ca. Dan is leaving behind his wife Debbie of 42 years, his son Adam, his sister Clare and brother-in-law Mike, sister-in-law Pattie (Ralph) and his nieces and nephews. In 1968, at age 19, Dan moved to California to join the Air Force stationed at Travis Air Force Base as an aircraft maintenance technician until 1972. While stationed at Travis, Dan met the love of his life Debbie Childs who he married on June 16, 1973. Finally, after eleven years of marriage Dan and Debbie decided to have a son named Adam. Before the birth of his son, Dan was involved in Antioch Youth Sports. He coached Babe Ruth for 10 years and also helped build the Antioch Babe Ruth fields. After the birth of his son, Dan remained active in youth sports including coaching for Antioch Youth Football, Youth Soccer, and Antioch Little League. Dan started working for Tesoro "formerly Tosco" Refinery in Martinez, Ca in 1973 until he retired after 40 years in November 2013 as a Chem-Tech Lab Supervisor. Dan's passions included reading, crosswords, puzzles, and anything competitive with his son. He enjoyed his Puggle dog of 12 years, Maximus, who was his second son. Towards the end of his life, Dan enjoyed traveling to places like Europe and traveling down the California coastline with his wife Debbie. He will be remembered as a great husband and a loving father.
Memorial funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 4:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
