With deep love, we announce the passing of Darrell Joseph Cacciaroni on April 23rd, 2026. Darrell was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and son. Born on New Years Eve, 1951 in Pittsburg, California, Darrell arrived as the eldest son of Salvatore Cacciaroni and Gloria Martini (ne). Darrell built a life in Pittsburg, spending 25 years employed at Dow Chemical Company before changing careers to serve others as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
Darrell served as a combat medic in the California Army National Guard, an interest that extended into an appreciation for military history, and his sons continuing the tradition into their own service in uniform.
He is remembered by his love of the San Francisco 49ers, his passion for crocheting, his love for his cats, and all animals. He enjoyed gardening, reflected in the ‘green thumb’ he had. He also enjoyed riding his bike, which was often his mode of transportation to and from Dow. Darrell was happiest when surrounded by his family. Whether it be our annual family trip to Pacific Grove to run a 10k fun run or BBQ’s he would host an his home, for Darrell, it was all about family. He was an exceptionally warm, giving and dedicated soul in all he did and to everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his brother, Allan Cacciaroni (Diann); his sister Carole Cacciaroni Lytle; son’s Christopher Llamas (Lacey Todd), and Michael Cacciaroni (Janna). Darrell also leaves behind grandson, Brandon Llamas, and granddaughters, Everly Llamas and Harper Cacciaroni.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch.
