Delois Marie McBride Feb. 13, 1945 - April 12, 2024 Delois Marie McBride was born to the union of Leroy McBride and Clansora Brit on February 13th, 1945 in Eudora, Arkansas. She passed away on Friday 04/12/2024, She was 79 years of age. She was the last surviving sibling of 8 children to this union. She was a longtime resident of Pittsburg, CA. And graduated with a Bachelor of Science from University of California in Berkeley. After various jobs in her field in human sciences, she was contracted the job of formulating the pesticide that was to kill the Mediterranean fruit fly also know as the MedFly. These MedFlys were the most destructive fruit flys in the world. The flies were killing the orange groves in California. The pesticide developed by Delois was successful in the extermination of MedFlies. Delois also did important work for IBM, NASA, and was a professor at various colleges through out the California college systems. Delois enjoyed traveling, missionary work, teaching, mentoring, spiritual advising, and enduring intriguing rescue missions abroad with her church. She was always helping those in need, and was willing to do what it took to get job done. Her favorite thing was to talk and teach the young people she encountered over the years around the world of any age and circumstances. She loved to talk to young people and tell them how to make their mark in the world by getting involved, voting, and running for office to help make the polices to help make the change needed in this world. She told them anything was possible and to get involved. Delois is survived by her loving and only child Lorraine Buffy Jackson-Stewart and her husband Julius L. Stewart Jr. Of Zachary, Louisiana. She was loved by her grandchildren Altovise Parker of Houston TX., Khrystynna and Jeremy Brown of Humble TX., Atreanna Webb of Baton Rouge, LA., Keely Stewart of Auburn, WA., Alyssa Stewart of Plaquemine, LA., and Joshua Stewart of Baton Rouge, LA. And great grandchildren Aubreille Parker of Houston, TX., Damond,Kiana Webb and [Micheal Webb] of Zachary, LA., Khelani and Khari Brown of Humble, TX. And HaKing LeBlanc of Baton Rouge, LA. She will also be missed by close friends of the family Gricelda, Cynthia, Edgar, Noe, Maricela, Athena Zaragoza, and Juan, Mia Camarena. Delois touched many lives with her wisdom, love, care and positive outlook on life. Her generous loving spirit will be missed. She will forever be remembered. Love you mama!
