Delores Charlene Lawrie passed away Tuesday after a tough battle with lung cancer. She touched many lives and was there for three generations of babies.
She was born in Oaklahoma, coming to California in 1947 with her family. She has made California her home for sixty-six years.
Delores wanted to be an artist but started working at the County Hospital in the laundry department. Through classes and "on the job" training she soon had a permanent position in central supply. This is where she stayed for her 37 years of service. Not only finding a job for life but also starting friendships that lasted these many years.
Preceded in death by her husband, Skip Lawrie (of 42 years), by her parents Dorothy and Vernie Burnett and by Freta Lorene, a daughter lost so many years ago.
Delores is survived by her two sons James Andrews (Martha) and Larry Andrews (Leslyn). She leaves her many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Also leaving a brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 28, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Funeral services Tuesday, October 29, 2013 11:00am both days at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Burial following at Oakview Memorial Park, Antioch.
