Born Denise Marie Rosano November 25, 1956. Denise was at her home in Pittsburg, surrounded by her loving family, when she was overtaken by cancer and joined the angel choir, February 17, 2022. She was 65 years young.
Denise grew up in Albany, California, she attended Cornell Elementary School and graduated in 1974 from Albany High. She was the first born of Jack and Jean Rosano, with two brothers, Ken and Bryan, and her sister Debbie.
Denise was a Bay Area business woman. Together with her brother, Bryan Rosano, she was co-owner of Best Equipment Company, in Berkeley, providing and servicing fire extinguishers for the protection of Bay Area businesses, hospitals, homes and schools.
Denise was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Berkeley, past president and secretary with over 20 years of community service, providing leadership and support for Key Clubs at Berkeley High School and Oakland Technical High School. She was also a major supporter of Cazadero Music Camp. She enjoyed special projects like sewing baby blankets for newborns and trauma dolls for Children's hospital. She made countless ribbon leis for Key Club members to wear at their graduation.
She is survived by Nick Haughin, her loving husband of 33 years, their children, Deanna and Leslie, five grandchildren, her father, Jack Rosano and his wife Patricia, her sister and brothers. She was a much adored "auntie" to numerous nieces and nephews. Her warm smile and generous personality made everyone she met feel like part of the family.
Her Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 1:00pm at Church of the Good Shepherd, 3200 Harbor Street, Pittsburg, CA. Please join the family afterwards for light refreshments in the church hall.
The family requests donations in her memory may go to the American Cancer Society or Berkeley Kiwanis Foundation, PO Box 3032, Berkeley, CA 94703.
