Dominic Scott Martin passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2023; he was only 24 years old. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.

He was born on June 22, 1998, at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. Dominic attended elementary and high school in Antioch and participated in the Gifted and Talented Education program known as GATE as well as EDGE, an engineering and design academy. He was on the wrestling and golf teams at Antioch High and graduated in 2016. He also attended Los Medanos College.

Recently, Dominic started an apprenticeship as a meat cutter with UFCW Local #8 and worked at Lunardi's in Danville. He loved his job.

Dominic had many passions, however, his favorite thing was learning and reading every day. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, barbecuing, and anything that got him outdoors such as camping, hiking and kayaking.

He was a beautiful and genuine person inside and out, and he had a brilliant smile that would light up the room. He cared deeply for his friends and family. He was extremely kind, compassionate and gave the best hugs ever.

Dominic is survived by his parents, Nikko and Jill Martin. He will forever be remembered by his brother and best friend, Logan Martin. He is also loved and remembered by his grandparents, Byron Bettinger, Vern and Liz Martin, and his great-grandmother Janet Martin. Dominic's loss is also felt by his many aunties, uncles and cousins – too many to name.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother Becky Bettinger, uncle C.J. Bettinger, as well as great-grandparents Betty Martin and Kelly Martin, and cousin Jordan Martin.

Dominic will be forever missed. Until we meet again … soar with the angels Dominic.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
