Doyle McClelland of West Pittsburg/Bay Point passed away on October 17, 2018 at 81 years of age after a month long bout of pneumonia and sepsis. Born in Brentwood, CA on August 12, 1937, he attended local schools and after high school, Doyle was in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1962. He married Laura "Jeanne" in 1959 and began his career at Chemical and Pigment Company a few years later which is where he eventually retired from in 1999.
Doyle was talented with a fishing pole and was a regular at the McAvoy harbor where he spent countless hours telling fish stories to friends. He liked to bowl and play soft ball until his shoulder said he had to quit. He was lucky at the craps tables and could shoot a decent game of 8-ball right up to the end. He loved to eat and laugh and fish and drive. He loved hanging out with his friends and watching sports and game shows on TV. He was the best sidekick on a road trip you'd ever want to have and would always listen when you had a problem.
Doyle is survived by his children Steven and Carla and his grandchildren Eric, Mac and Charles. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne of 53 years.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
