Obituary

Edward Romero, a 91-year-old man, peacefully passed away in his home on Friday, March 21, 2025. Born on August 17, 1933, in San Bernardino, California, Edward leaves behind a loving family. His children include Martha Romero, Richard Romero (Melanie Romero), and Teena Romero. He has 17 grandchildren, countless great-grandchildren, and his brother, Ernie Romero (Barbara Romero). Sadly, Edward's wife, Lucy Romero, preceded him in death, including parents, Diego and Rosie Romero; siblings,Josie, Doris, Louise, Nellie, Buddy, Juanita, Virginia, and Gilbert; children, Rosie Romero, Valerie Romero-Lopez and Baby Richard; and great-granddaughter, Ameeya Mcdonald.

Edward and Lucy's 65-year marriage was filled with joy and love, and they raised their five children together, welcoming 25 foster children into their home. Their bond was truly special, and it shone through in every moment they spent together. Edward was known for his infectious laughter and love of jokes. If you didn't hear one of his jokes or stories the first time, you could almost guarantee you'd hear it again! He had a knack for retelling the same stories over and over, like his favorite request for a 6-foot blond.

Edward, a baseball enthusiast, coached for Pittsburg Little League and traveled nationally with his children for tournaments. Edward was a true adventurer who loved exploring the great outdoors with his family and friends. They embarked on thrilling journeys across the nation, visiting places like New York, Idaho, Arizona, Mexico, Nevada, Texas, South Dakota, Montana, and many more. In recent years, he cherished spending quality time with his son and daughter-in-law in Reno, or any casino they took him to play his beloved quarter poker machines. As his life drew to a close, he made a heartfelt visit to his daughter in Billings, Montana, and frequently traveled to SoCal to catch up with his beloved family.

Edward's days were filled with comfort and relaxation. He would spend his time around the kitchen table, engrossed in his favorite TV shows, with a comforting cup of his signature black coffee by his side. When it was time to bid farewell to the Romero home, Edward would take you to the porch, offering a warm goodbye until he could no longer see your car disappear into the distance.

Edward Romero will always be missed, cherished as a loving father, devoted brother, wise grandpa, great grandpa, caring uncle, supportive father-in-law, cherished cousin, and dear friend. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
