Edwina
Pineda
May 28, 1931 — Aug 16, 2021
Edwina "Duvi" Pineda was born May 28th, 1931 in El Paso, Texas. She passed away from natural causes at her home surrounded by her family on August 16th, 2021.
Duvi was an active member in her community. The Lord used her to initiate prayer in Pittsburg. Through New Harvest Church and many outreaches, including a play named Esa Cholo, she helped witness to many unbelievers. She needed only the Lord to motivate her to spread His word. At Light Ministries, she started a prayer group that grew because of her dedication. She spent years feeding those in need through Loaves and Fishes.
Duvi was a faithful servant of God. She had kind words for those who were hurting, forgiveness for those who didn't know how to forgive, and love for those who didn't feel worthy. She took time to pray for strangers. She planted many seeds for her faith. The world was a better place because of her love for the Lord. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the seeds of faith she planted.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Lucia; brother, Arcadio; sisters Cruz, Rose, Lucy, and Ramona; and sons Manuel and Fernando. She is survived by her sister Geneva; sons Ronald, Leonard, and David; daughters Melissa and Monica; 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Her celebration of life will be held on October 14th from 12 pm to 1 pm at Pittsburg Chapel. The celebration will be continued at the Pittsburg Elks Lodge at 200 Marina Blvd.
