Elana was born in Vallejo, CA and graduated from Pittsburg High School. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant where she worked with compassion serving those in her care. This is a reflection of who Elana was in life, she was kind to everyone and impacted the lives of many people including family and friends.

Elana is survived by her devoted children James Portis (Melissa), Rodney Portis (Allena), Ebony Portis (Chundrea), Gerald Cooley Jr (Sabrina), Dellana Richard, Dale Richard Jr, and Dellvina Richard, 18 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Irma Jones, Willie Jones Jr, Cathy Jones, Shirley Warren (Thomas), Joyce Jones, Jeanenette Randle, Kilton Lash and Stella Lash and a very special companion Larry Tyars.  She was preceded in death by her father Willie Frank Jones, mother Catherine Annetta Jones, and siblings Sandra Small and Freddie Dozier. Her caring, generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 10:00am and funeral service at 11:00am both at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel 2295 Railroad Ave in Pittsburg. Burial to follow at Oakview Memorial Park.
