Elisa Santiago Guzman passed peacefully away on Monday afternoon. She fed many of her children, grandchildren, neighbors, and friends with her food and love.
Elisa was born in Calumpit, Bulacan, Philippines. She graduated as valedictorian from her high school, Institute de Mujeres. She majored in Accounting and earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Commerce from the Far Eastern University in Manila. She worked many years with Lloyd's of London Surplus Lines and retired after a lifelong career with the company.
Elisa was married to Alfredo S. Guzman, Jr. for forty years. They raised six children together. She joins Alfredo, her daughter Elizabeth, and son Luis. She is survived by her devoted children, Ernest, Roberto, Jessica, and Georgina. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who live in California, Arizona, and Colorado and hold their "Nanay" in loving memory.
Elisa blessed many people with the love that came from her hands – through her food, the flowers and fruits of her garden, and her many craft projects from sewing, to knitting, and embroidery. She was fond of taking care of her family, garden, and taking trips with her friends.
Friends and family are invited to viewings on Sunday, December 8, from 1-4pm, and Monday, December 9, 4:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm both days at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Tuesday, December 10, 10:00am at the Church of Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
