Ellie Marchoke, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday after a lengthy illness. Ellie was born and raised in Antioch. She graduated from Antioch High School in 1945. She retired from Pittsburg Unified School District in 1993 and substituted for eight more years. Ellie was a member of the Pittsburg Women's Community League, Church of the Good Shepherd choir, and Young Ladies Institute. She loved to sing and dance, enjoyed bargain shopping, and cheered for the San Francisco 49er's.
Ellie is survived by her children Rick Marchoke (Corinne), Meg Witt (Jerry), and grandchildren Aron Rice (Kyonnah), Laura Rice (Jared Parker), and great-grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces, BIL Dick Field, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by the love of her life Edward "Eddie" Marchoke, both of their parents, aunts and uncles, and siblings.
Visitation is on Thursday, December 12th, at 4:00pm with a vigil at 7:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Friday, December 13th, at 10:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch. Contributions may be made to the Edward J Marchoke Memorial Music Scholarship fund.
