Emma Rey-Diaz, daughter of the late Aureo Rey and Luz Malapitan was born on March 30, 1936 in Romblon, Philippines. She found love and was united in the holy matrimony to Arturo Diaz on the 14th of December 1957. This union was blessed with a daughter and four sons.

Emma served as an officer and an active member of the Filipino Catholic Society in Pittsburg, CA. As a result of her generosity and pleasant personality, she was loved by her peers and everybody that had the opportunity to know her. She developed a fondness for curating plants and flowers, but her true love is the different species of Orchids. Her life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who had the honor to know her.

Emma quietly passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 10:57 in the morning in her home in Pittsburg, CA.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Arturo Diaz; a daughter, Ma. Socorro Diaz-Sumbillo and husband Nestor Sumbillo; four sons, Joselito Diaz and wife Grace Diaz, Manolito Diaz and wife Jhonalyn De Castro-Diaz, Arturo Diaz Jr., and Gentry Diaz and his wife Irene Pahunang-Diaz; seven grandchildren, Patrick Moses and wife Maureen Joie Castillo, Marc Angelo, Scott Ian, Duane Ryan, Craig, Gwyneth Iris, Gillian Iliana and Jolene Nicole; and a great grandson, Zion Isaac.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 2:00pm with a funeral mass at 3:30pm all at Church of the Good Shepherd 3200 Harbor St., Pittsburg, CA 94565. A small gathering will be held as a celebration of life after the service at 960 Jewett Ave, Pittsburg, CA 94565.
