Epifania "Paning" D. Nacnac was born July 12, 1939 to parents Monica and Julian in Vintar, Ilocos Norte, a small sunny town with beautiful mountains, a bountiful river, close-knit community and lively spirit. She was proud of her town and as a young girl, she was well known amongst the townspeople as the "cantora" in the church choir as she sang with a strong voice heard by the angels in heaven. Paning was raised to stay humble and always help others. As an adolescent, she attended school in Laoag City, where she obtained her occupational certificate as a seamstress.

After years of courtship, she married Abraham Nacnac Jr. on July 20, 1968, and shared a wedded life even reaching their 50 ^th golden anniversary. Although pregnant, she immigrated in 1972 to join her husband in San Diego as a military wife, constantly adjusting to moves though out the state from Long Beach, Treasure Island, Eureka and Novato, before finally settling in small town Pittsburg in 1985 to their forever home. Within their union they had two children. Devoted to family, she was industrious and worked several jobs as a housekeeper, seafood cannery worker and seamstress, retiring as a food server at Nations Giant Hamburgers in Pittsburg after 18 years. She was deeply devoted to her faith at the church of Our Lady Queen of the World and enjoyed cooking, singing, fishing, crabbing, clamming, gardening and going to the casinos with her friends for "a good time".

Although far away from the Philippines, she emulated her upbringing by creating her own sense of community with everyone she met, including neighbors, church, town businesses, law enforcement, local politicians; Everyone was her friend. She showed unending hospitality to those that visited her home or delivered hot cooked Filipino meals to others' homes or place of business or send frozen cooked meals to family members in the US craving authentic Ilocano dishes. She was passionate in serving others before herself.

Epi joined family gone before her in heaven during the early morning of March 17, 2019. She lived 79 fulfilling years and was always surrounded with the love, care and support from her family, close relatives and friends until the her last days. Her memory will forever be held and shared by her daughter, Willette (Derek), granddaughter Arlana, son Wendell; siblings Nicolasa, Ernesto, Severino, and Salvacion, and many relatives and friends who she cared and loved so deeply.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a vigil at 6:30pm both days at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
