Surrounded by his family Ernie (Lo'li) Gutierrez passed away early Sunday morning, July 9, 2017.  Ernie was a private man so he waited until his family said goodnight and turned off the lights, to accept his place in heaven by taking the hand of our Lord.
Ernie is a native of Pittsburg and graduated from Pittsburg High School, later he graduated from Diablo Valley College with a Certificate of Achievement in Ornamental Horticulture. He worked for the City of Martinez Parks District for over 28 years. Ernie enjoyed spending time with his family.  Camping was our summer vacations and we loved it.  He was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed fly fishing, camping, golfing, and gardening. He was a 49er Faithful, and a Huge fan of the SF Giants and Warriors.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Andrea, married 61 years; devoted children, daughters Francine Cabrera (Henry), Tina Henry (Gary), Antonette, and sons, Lawrence and Gregory; and 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Bertha Knox, brothers Luis, Al, and Jesus Garcia. He is preceded in death by his son Ernie Jr., and his Mother and Father Domitilia and Albino Gutierrez.
Friends and Family are invited to visitation on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 5-8pm and funeral service on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10:30am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Burial to follow at the Oak View Memorial Cemetery.
