After a brief illness, Esperanza passed away in her sleep at home. Esperanza was born in Pasadena, CA to Carmen and Prudencia Naranjo. The family settled in Stockton, CA where she graduated from Edison High School in 1947. While attending school, she worked in the clothing department at various stores, including the Bargain Spot and Rosenthal's.
After marrying Paul Narez, on December 23, 1950, she moved to Pittsburg, CA. As a newlywed, she worked at Camp Stoneman Depot. She later worked at Pittsburg Wholesale Grocers, until retiring. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and dancing.

Esperanza is survived by her two sons, Robert and Greg Narez. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Narez.

Memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 1pm at the Pittsburg Elks Lodge, 200 Marina Blvd., Pittsburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to Hospice.
