Eva Bartley departed this life on April 9, 2025. Eva was born in Texarcana, Texas on 1/31/1935, to Robert and Dorothy Jiles. The Jiles family migrated to Pittsburg, California in 1945.
Eva accepted Christ at an early age joining First Baptist Church under the Pastorate of the late Rev. W.S. Woods. She began her academic journey, graduating from Pittsburg High School and attending Diablo Valley College where she completed her education and training as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
Eva met and married Emeal Bartley (Em) in 1950. From this union, daughter Darlene was born. In 1962, Eva and "Em" were blessed with twins, Michelle and Michael. Family was always the center of Eva's life. She was a devoted mother and wife who always prioritized her family's well being and happiness. She enjoyed hearing about current events of friends and family members and loved sharing laughter. She loved watching her stories, Days of Our Lives, and others. She loved sports, particularly Warriors basketball and A's baseball. Her favorite Warriors players were Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
Eva was employed as an LVN at Pittsburg Community Hospital when an injury caused her early retirement.
Eva became incapacitated after experiencing a fall in her home causing a serious injury to her left leg. Due to complications from that fall, she became ill and was admitted to a Rehab facility. Eva is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy, father, Robert her husband, Em and daughters, Darlene and Michelle. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Michael Bartley (Pynthia), nieces Waynette Mason and Tamara Mitchell. God sons, "Deuce" Johnson and Demetrius Mason, cousins Emmett Jiles and Essie Butler as well as many other relatives and friends.
