Evelyn Lamport, age 83 passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 at John Muir Medical Center in Concord. Evelyn was born in Fresno, Ca., raised in Oakley/Antioch East Contra Costa County area. Graduated from Liberty High School in 1948. She worked for Domtar Gypsum in Antioch for 16 years before her retirement.
She enjoyed being with family, friends, trips to casinos, gardening, movies, enjoying her water aerobics class and watching golf and Giants baseball. She also was a volunteer for Su Salud Health Clinic.
Evelyn is survived by George Rios, her companion and 3 brothers (Ret. Lt. Col.) Henry Cervantes, Reuben (Snake) and Steve Gutierrez. 2 sisters Aurora Cardona and Jennie Gonzales, and many many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Ignacio and Maria Gutierrez, brother Gus Cervantes and her kitty Ginger.
Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 1:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
