Fr. Theo Palis passed away on February 7, 2013 at Mercy Care Center in Oakland, where he was in retirement since 2006. He was born in Lithuania and was ordained a priest on July 29, 1945 in Eichsatt, Germany. He became a naturalized US citizen on March 6, 1956.Fr. Palis is survived by his brother, Justinas Palukaitis and niece, Dalia Geniene, both in Lithuania. His oldest
brother, Juosas, died in 1979. He is lovingly remembered
by parishoners at Our Lady Queen of the World Church in Bay Point, where he was Pastor for 31 years. Among his many associations,
he was Chaplain for the Regina Mundi Guild and the Concord Naval Weapons Station, as well as a 3rd Degree Knight, Knights of Columbus. He was most happy when tending to the sick and shut ins and hearing confessions. He enjoyed bike riding and walking his dog. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 5:00pm with a vigil service at 7:00pm. Funeral liturgy Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10:00am both at Our Lady Queen of the World Church.
