Fran Thomas was born and raised in Pittsburg, Ca. In 1968 she married Jim Thomas also of Pittsburg. They moved to Walnut Creek in 1972 and raised a family. Fran spent many years as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt.
In 1994, Jim and Fran began an antique textile business. Fran was an avid movie lover and an amazing cook. She loved politics and always followed current events. She enjoyed drives to the ocean and loved to park and linger there every time the opportunity presented itself.
Fran was a wonderful "Nana" to 6 grandchildren. She had a caring nature and would always make herself available for any birthdays, sporting events, plays, dance performances, etc. As a Nana and Auntie she played a significant role in their lives; supporting them in any way she could. She was the family historian, always attempting to continue the legacy of the people who touched her life, and was a devout Catholic.
Fran is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Jim Thomas; devoted children, Noreen Sumpter (John) and Jimmy Thomas (Victoria), and 6 grandchildren, Deanne Dannelly, Holden Dannelly, Camrin Dannelly, Cameron Parsons, Reagan Thomas and Michael Sumpter. She is also survived by her mother Nora Ferrante, her brother Joseph Ferrante (Caterina), her nieces Giuliana, Teresa, and nephew Giovanni Ferrante. Also nieces Karen Lopez and Shirley Carrilo. Fran was preceded in death by her father Joseph Ferrante.
She had many wonderful friends that she loved and appreciated. She was a happy person with a strong constitution and a positive attitude. Her generous, loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
