Frances Rose Mays passed away on March 16, 2021 at the age of 89. She passed peacefully in her sleep at home. She was born in Pittsburg, CA to her parents Antonio and Jennie Lamendola. She was preceded in death by her parents, Granddaughter Whitney Marie Mays, and older brother Michael Angelo Lamendola.

Frances was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg going to local schools and graduating from Pittsburg High in 1949. She met and married her husband of 65 years, Cecil Mays in 1956. Together they raised two sons, Mark and Greg.

Frances was well liked and well known throughout the community. She was a big sports fanatic following her sons whenever, wherever they played. This continued right onto her granddaughter and grandsons' games. She also enjoyed watching the SF 49'ers, SF Giants, and Golden State Warriors. She even watched a little of the Warriors vs. Lakers game the night before she passed.

Frances is survived by her husband Cecil, two sons Mark Mays (Donna) and Greg Mays (Laura). Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, plus a number of other loving relatives and friends.

The family wishes to thank those who have sent flowers, cards, and condolences. A memorial mass for Frances will be held April 22, 2021 at 10:00 am at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Pittsburg, CA. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to Hospice of East Bay.
