Obituary

Freddie Acuna, age 78, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2017, with his family by his side after a long battle of heart and kidney disease (dialysis) over 19 years.
Born January 7, 1939, in Southern Leyte, Philippines, at age 21, he joined the United States Navy, married and migrated to the United States where he eventually settled his family in Pittsburg, CA. Freddie served in the Navy for 22 years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1980. He went on to become the Senior Pastor of "I Found the Answer Ministries" in Pittsburg. Acuna, well-known for his story-telling, laughter, hospitality, generosity, and amazing cooking skills, fully loved the Lord, his family, congregation, friends, and everyone he met.
Freddie is survived by:  Remey, his wife of 57 years; his children, Marites Ignacio, Joey Acuna (Gigi), Jeryck Acuna, Margie Gutridge (Steve), 10 grandchildren, and 2 brothers.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 13, 11:00 AM at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Burial following at Oak View Memorial Park in Antioch. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to: I Found the Answer Ministries, P.O. Box 8026, Pittsburg, CA  94565.
