Gail A. Ballard passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27th, surrounded by her husband, children, and sisters after a valiant battle against illness for many years. She touched so many lives with her gentle spirit and positive outlook on life. She was a thoughtful, loving, and compassionate wife, mother, Gigi, sister, and friend.
Gail was born in Oak Lawn, Illinois, and graduated from Oak Lawn Community High School. From there she went on to attend junior college and furthered her accounting degree at Northern Illinois University.
Gail moved to California in 1980, with her husband, Steve, where they started their new life together full of wonderful adventures.
One of Gail's greatest joys was to spend time with her beloved "Bunco Babes", her core group of friends that adored "Baby Gail" as much as she adored them.
Gail is survived by her husband of 42 years, Steve; her sons, Brett (Anna) of Sacramento, CA, and Kyle of Concord, CA. Her grandchildren that brought her incredible joy; Henry, Charlotte, and Theodore. She is also survived by her sisters; Jean Reilly of Hobart, Indiana, and Sherri Cornelissen (John) of Montgomery, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eric and Betty Rose Johnson, and her sister, Christine Kennedy. She also had many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Her generous and loving spirit will be missed by all that were lucky enough to have known her.
