Obituary

Gail Elizabeth Herrera, a beloved resident of Pittsburg, California, passed away on November 9, 2025. She was born on October 20, 1935, in Martinez to her devoted parents, Charles ("Pat") Morgan and Elizabeth ("Betty") Morgan. Gail's warmth, generosity, and unwavering love touched all who knew her. A cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she will be deeply missed.

Gail grew up in Concord, attending local schools and graduating from Mount Diablo High School in 1953. She continued her education at Armstrong Business School in Berkeley while working at Capwell's in Oakland. The beginning a strong work ethic that would define her career. She went on to serve Dow Chemical with dedication for 35 years.

In 1958, Gail married the love of her life, Daniel Herrera. Together they built a beautiful life and raised three children: Gale Sbranti (Sal), Lisa (Dan) Mazzoncini, and Daniel Herrera, Jr. Gail was immensely proud of her family, which grew to include five grandchildren—Kimberly Stack, Daniel Herrera III, Gianna Herrera, Stephanie Lenahan, and Michelle Hasri—and four great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy. She is also survived by her brother, David Morgan and her best friend of 85 years, Shirley Roberson.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel, and her grandson Dante.

Throughout her life, she and Daniel traveled widely throughout the United States, Mexico, and Europe, creating countless cherished memories together. Gail is one of the last living descendants of Jeremiah Morgan, an early settler in Contra Costa County (1850) and founder of Morgan Territory. She took immense pride in her Morgan family heritage.

A celebration of Gail's life will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd, at Lone Tree Golf Course in Antioch, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the "Make-A-Wish" Foundation or to a charitable organization of your choosing.

Gail's legacy of love, strength, and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
