Genaro Joseph Narez passed away Wednesday peacefully surrounded by his wife and children. He touched many lives with his caring spirit, generosity and positive outlook in life.
Genaro was born in Pittsburg, CA and graduated from Pittsburg High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy for 4 years, he worked as an Operator for the Dow Chemical Co. for 34 years and was a long time member of the Pittsburg Elks Lodge. During his lifetime, he enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. He was quite the handyman, loved working crossword puzzles and watching sports. The SF Giants, 49ers and Warriors were his favorite teams.
Genaro is survived by his loving wife, Connie; devoted children Patricia Ramirez (Fred) of Huntington Beach, Richard Narez (Barbara) of El Dorado Hills, Jacqueline Buccellato (John) of Pittsburg, Robbie Lynn Chavez (Aaron) of Huntington Beach, grandchildren, Peter and Nicholas Ramirez, Justine and Jennifer Buccellato, Gabrielle and Isabella Macapinlac, Cruz and Christian Chavez, and brother William Narez. He was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Mercedes Narez, his brothers Ben and Ralph Narez, his sisters Rose Rivera and Helen Ramirez and granddaughter Grace Macapinlac.
Visitation will held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 5:30pm with a vigil and rosary at 6:30 at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 10:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
