George Warren Fitch was born on November 28, 1931, in Palouse, Washington. He went home to be with Jesus on October 6, 2023, at the age of 91. George was the second child born to George L. & Irene Fitch.

During college, Uncle Sam asked George to serve his country, which he gladly did. He came to California in July 1952. After boot camp, he was assigned to Camp Stoneman in Pittsburg, and he has lived here ever since.

George worked at the DuPont plant in Antioch for 35 years, until retirement in 1989.  He was also an active member of the Pittsburg Church of the Nazarene for 70 years. He loved God, his family, and others, especially the children & youth were his heart. He loved God's beautiful outdoors and fishing.

George is survived by his two children; son George "Larry" Fitch and daughter-in-law Andie; and daughter Cathy Fitch Lemly and son-in-law Bruce Lemley, all residing in Pittsburg, California. 6 grandchildren: Sara Fitch Allen, Jason Fitch & wife Sarah, Shari Lemley Craig & husband Adrian, Katie Fitch Nielson & husband Brian, Micheal Lemley, Matthew Lemley & wife Nickey; and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Phil, and Bob. George is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Bristol Fitch in November 2010, his older sister, Wathene, and brother Jim.

George departed this earth peacefully to be with Jesus face to face.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral service Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 11:00am both days at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Burial following at Memory Gardens Cemetery 2011 Arnold Industrial Way, Concord, Ca 94520.
