Obituary

Gloria was born in Tormey, CA in 1927, to Trinidad and Santiago Corral. She grew up with her 8 brothers and sisters in downtown Pittsburg, CA. At the age of 15, she quit school to work at the Kaiser shipyards with her 3 sisters in Richmond during WW2. She was very proud to be a "Wendy the Welder", and of her welding skills on the double bottoms of the ships' hold. Although she loved going to work, (as she would boast), the best part was sneaking off to the Oakland dance halls to dance away their shifts.
Along with being exceptional dancers, The Corral sisters, were also known for their singing. Gloria and her sister, Beatrice, often entertained the troops and attended many USO dances. She also loved to sing with the mariachis at park fiestas and family events.
After the war, being a great cook, Gloria opened her own Mexican restaurant in San Rafael. During that same time, she met her husband, Tony at Camp Stoneman and married in 1955. As a military wife, she traveled all over until they retired to her hometown. Shortly after, they settled down in Antioch where they raised their 4 children.
Gloria and Tony enjoyed a fun, loving life with many cruises, trips to Hawaii and Lake Tahoe. Later in life, they loved their time together playing bingo at least 4 times a week, until Tony's passing in 2014. Gloria continued to enjoy bingo til the age of 91!
Gloria's greatest joy was spending time with her grown children, 9 grandchildren and especially, her 7 great grandchildren: Jackson, Benjamin, Reece, Brynn, Wesley, Chase and Olivia. "Her babies", as she called them, were the "Light of her Life"!!

Gloria is survived by her devoted children, Annette Tesler (Tom), Trinnie Clay ( Butch), Connie Short (Chris), George Giambalvo (Janice), Grandchildren, Thomas & Anthony Tesler, Gianna Miller, Brett & Brandon Clay, Christopher & Cameron Short, Christina Titus and Eric Giambalvo. She is also survived by her brother, Col. John Corral (Genie).

Gloria was a beautiful, fun, loving, colorful character, who always spoke her mind, so you always knew where you stood with her! She was always the life of the party and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

A private family burial will take place at Holy Cross cemetery on July 17 th .
