Gloria Doris Strusis, 90, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 in Antioch, Ca. She was born in Martinez, Ca and moved to Pittsburg as a young child. She worked various jobs from the age of 16, working at Camp Stoneman, U.S. Steel, City of Pittsburg, and Contra Costa County as a Court Clerk. Gloria loved her family, friends, gardening, bingo/slots, and cooking family dinners.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Laura Gumina, grandchildren: Dawn DaPra (Scott), Tony Gumina, Laine Wich (Paul), Zethan Strusis, Nick Strusis (Marina), Stephanie Weber (Adam); 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her two sisters, Lorraine Siragusa and Jean DeSair (Don). She was preceded in death by her husband, Spiro Strusis and son Stephen Strusis.
There are many special people who live their lives with love, kindness, generosity, and integrity. Gloria Doris Strusis was one of those rare people. Her kind and gentle spirit carved her name in our hearts and her generosity etched her legacy in our minds. She will continue to live through us and with us. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 10:00am with a chapel blessing at 11:30am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Committal services following at Oak View Memorial Park, Antioch.
